Testing Services

The WA AIDS Council offers sexual health testing services to gay men and men who have sex with men. These services are located both at  the M Clinic and at our Sauna Sexual Health service.

 

The M Clinic - Men's Sexual Health Service

The M Clinic provides FREE and confidential Sexually Transmissible Infection (STI) testing and treatment services for same sex attracted men.

The M Clinic is housed within a small medical facility at 4/24 McCourt Street, West Leederville (behind St John of God Hospital) which is central and easy to find with free parking. It is a walk-in clinic with no appointments necessary. Please bring Medicare card for pathology.

Sauna Sexual Health Service

Located within Perth Steam Works this service provides sexual health education and confidential and anonymous testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBVs) such as HIV.

 

The clinic is open on Mondays 3.30pm to 6.30pm. Please note the clinic is closed on public holidays. Call 9482 0000 for more information.

 

As this is an anonymous service you do NOT have to give your real name however we do request your true date of birth. Consultations with the Doctor occur on a first come first served basis and all clients who want blood tests must meet with the peer educator before seeing the Doctor.

A full sexual health check-up can take up to 25 minutes. You can have blood tests for; HIV, Hepatitis A, B & C and Syphilis. Tests for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea may require a urine sample, throat and anal swabs depending on your sexual activity. Please do not urinate for 2 hours prior to attending the clinic.
