Living Well with HIV
Clinical Services, formerly known as Positive Services, was established in 1985, with the incorporation of the Western Australian AIDS Council. The program was established at a time when there was considerable community discrimination towards people who had been diagnosed HIV positive. Since then, WAAC Clinical Services has played an integral role in the community response to the HIV epidemic. 30 years on, Clinical Services continues to meet the support needs of many people living with HIV (PLHIV). During this time the program has witnessed many changes in community attitudes and in HIV epidemiology. These changes have also prompted regular reviews of the model upon which we provide services, and the projects and programs which can best meet the needs of PLHIV into the future.
We welcome all feedback from people living with HIV in WA. If you would like to make any enquiries or comments, please email Lisa Tomney, Manager Clinical Services at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"During my engagement with WAAC, I have had nothing but great experiences and assistance from clinical services. I have had assistance from the Counsellors, which has helped me immensely. They also helped me gain stability in my life, such as medical situations and also housing assistance. Honestly, being engaged with WAAC has been a life changer for me".
