Gay Men’s Health

Gay and homosexually active men represent around 50% of all HIV notifications in Western Australia, and remain overrepresented in this area. WA AIDS Council provides a number of services for men, from workshops and education through to sexual health clinics and community outreach.

Peer Support
Want to find out what it is like for other guys? Want to get support and information from guys who understand where you are coming from? The Project X Team from the Gay/MSM Program at the WA AIDS Council adopts a peer education model in our health promotion, outreach and education. Gay/MSM guys run all our programs and one to one peer support is also available. Visit www.projectx.net.au

Testing Services
Wanting to find out where you can get an anonymous confidential sexual health check? The Sauna Sexual Health Service and the M Clinic provide sexual health information testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBVs). For more information, visit the M Clinic website, http://www.mclinic.org.au/

Workshops
WA AIDS Council offers a variety of workshops run by gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. These workshops are about exploring our sexuality, maximising sexual pleasure while minimising risks and making the most of our choices. All our workshops and forums are free of charge for men 18+.

Our Mission

To minimise the impact and further transmission of HIV, other blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections. To reduce social, legal and policy barriers which prevent access to health information and effective support and prevention services.
